What Is Somatic Therapy:

Somatic therapy is body-centered mental healthcare. Just like you might see a physical therapist for an injury or a cardiologist for your heart, somatic therapy works with your nervous system and the wisdom your body holds to support both your mental and physical health.

People come to somatic therapy when they're navigating chronic illness or pain that hasn't fully responded to medical treatment alone. When anxiety, depression, or trauma symptoms are affecting their daily life. After receiving a diagnosis and realizing their body needs support to process and adapt. When they want to improve their relationships but keep hitting the same reactive patterns.

Some people schedule when they're in crisis, after a difficult event or when symptoms become overwhelming. Others come when they're ready to address root causes rather than managing symptoms alone. And several continue regularly or seasonally because they've discovered that maintaining nervous system capacity helps everything else in their life function better.

Your nervous system plays a foundational role in your mental and physical health. When it has the support it needs, healing and wellbeing becomes possible in ways that surprise people.

Who I Work With Most Often:

I support highly sensitive people, neurodivergent adults (including those on the autism spectrum, ADD, ADHD), and people from all walks of life navigating trauma - whether that's complex trauma from childhood, medical trauma, or PTSD from specific events.

Many people come because they recognize patterns like people pleasing, perfectionism, difficulty setting boundaries, or chronic anxiety and hypervigilance.

I also work with people exploring less conventional relationship structures like polyamory or open relationships, those facing existential questions and ecological grief, and adult children of narcissistic or borderline parents.

While I recognize the diagnostic language many people use to make sense of their experience, I don't view you as disordered or broken. My approach honors your nervous system's wisdom and supports you in discovering what becomes possible when you listen to it.
