My Approach
I apply research-backed methods that work with your body and nervous system first, while holistically considering how your physical health, relationships, and life circumstances all affect your wellbeing. It’s grounded in relationship neurobiology and attachment theory and is body centered, drawing from somatic practices, TRE®, Internal Family Systems (IFS), memory reconsolidation, and nervous system nourishment.
By the end of our initial session, we'll create a collaborative plan that feels right for you. Some clients work with me for a few months, others for longer. We'll meet weekly or biweekly, depending on what serves your healing best.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Most commonly sessions are 50 minutes. In our first session, we'll get to know each other. I always let clients know that the first session tends to look and feel different than subsequent ones. I'll ask about what brought you here, what you're hoping for, and we'll begin to create a path forward together. There's no pressure to share. We follow the pace of your nervous system and listen to the body, which is part of the “bottom up” approach.
I offer both in person sessions in Austin and online sessions throughout Texas. Please dress comfortably, and access a small space, as we may be moving the body.
For online sessions, find a private, comfortable space where you feel contained and safe. Bring whatever helps you feel settled: a journal, tea, a blanket, your pet. If you have family or roommates nearby, headphones can help create privacy.
